Nerding Out

So, this is something I do every year that I thought I would share. The Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn is one of my favorite places here and they host the Maker Faire every summer. The museum itself is home to an amazing automotive and industrial history all year round. My favorite exhibit is the freestanding recreation of a Las Vegas hotel room in the early 60’s! 😍 Greenfield Village is fun too, but it’s a little hot to walk around for street theater, and speeches about the Wright Brothers and butter churning.

Anyway, the faire has tons of makeshift engineering from local colleges, and exhibits by young robotics clubs from schools nearby. Lots of inventions, tinkering, reworks and, well, snacks. And I got to fly my first drone. No one died. #SCIENCE!

    1. It really was! It was a lot smaller this year for some reason but fewer vendors meant a smaller crowd. So that’s okay too!

    1. Lol!! It’s a total Nerdfest, so fun. Well…he was bootleg R2…he told us he thinks he looks like a toaster, but that he doesn’t know what a toaster is. He said he wants to be a refrigerator…but he doesn’t know what that is either! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

      1. Ha! Ha! Ha! 😁 I think I like the bootleg R2 better than the original!

    1. Yes! Same one, that’s so cool to see it in another city! I was disappointed it was so small this year but I found it was way more manageable crowd wise πŸ™„
