  2. You could just pop it into the microwave. Melt half of it on low/medium and whola. That’s what they taught us in chocolate/ patisserie course .

    1. Thanks! I’m almost 100% certain its a fondue pot marked Wilton so I will pay more and melt chocolate in it!

      1. so really… you knew all along what it was and bought it just to melt things, which seems like a reasonable response to me!

      1. I see cute little ideas like that and never end up trying them. Too many β€œPinterest fails” in my past! πŸ˜‚

        1. I don’t have a Pinterest but I get kids craft newsletters in my email and there’s a couple cool teaching sites I follow on facebook while I unfollow humans. The powdered donut snowmen are still my biggest success. Biggest fail was two color braided cookies when the oven went in to self clean on its own with the cookies in there… I had to haul it out to the driveway on fire. But! I got a new stove out of it! I’m anxiously awaiting my Pillsbury Christmas cookie countdown emails!

          1. Okay, your entire reply just made me laugh. “while I unfollow humans”, the oven mishap…picturing the whole driveway scenario….πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I’m sure it wasn’t funny at the time, but that’s quite a story! Yeah, I’ve only been adventurous with my Christmas baking a couple of times.
My mom and I get together every year to bake for Christmas and we ALWAYS have at least one thing go wrong, but usually several. And we’re both REALLY good cooks AND bakers! I did the melted snowman cookies year before last and, I have to say, they were hella cute. Imma do those again this year because they’re pretty failsafe. *now watch that statement bite me in the ass*

            1. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ lol! My daughter went to school the next day and said “our house caught on fire and dad had to go to the doctor with smoke in his lungs!” …they were *very* concerned until I explained it hahah. It was roasty toasty black and smoked for days. I told my dad ‘I wanna see what the cookies look like now’ cause we couldnt open it still. He goes “I CAN TELL YOU WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE!”..Ah, memories.

I actually think baking fails are the funniest. Cause they can go SO wrong and look just horrifying! Ive seen the melted snowman ones! Theyre cute! That year tho I did the santa tummy cookies for the preschool instead. I figured I couldn’t mess it up.

            2. I’ve not seen the Santa tummy cookies! Making a note to Google that later. My daughter and I do cookies. Mom and I generally stick with candy and homemade cinnamon rolls. Ahhh. I think I might actually be looking forward to Christmas now! So glad we talked about this! πŸ˜„

I can’t even IMAGINE how that looked OR smelled. Ovens put off such a noxious odor when they are self cleaning. I’ll bet that lingered for a WHILE.
I’m not gonna laugh too hard though…my oven isn’t but about 15 months old and it’s doing some freaky things with the lights…. I wouldn’t be surprised if we ended up with our own mishap here eventually!

            3. Cinnamon rolls, my weakness!

Me too! Hah. I put my tree up first week of november so i dont have that long a wait!

It smelled awful! And it was december but strangely like 60 degrees that night so all the kids and pets were out on the deck for a few hours. All the alarms went off. It was level 10 drama πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I made sure to get one that has a huge arm you have to manually pull to clean it! No mistakes! It had done it before only nothing was in it then!

      1. Sounds like an afternoon snack to me πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰ or a perfect way to make zombie bark? Melt it down onto a baking sheet, throw in some eyes, pretzel sticks dor random bones, let it harden and break apart?

      1. Oh yum! I am sure they won’t mind because almost everyone adores chocolate and salty pretzels! They’re a favorite of mine for sure. For Christmas maybe you can do Santas or reindeer? The possibilities are endless!

        Liked by 1 person

        1. There are reindeer i want to try this year that are a Reece cup, eyeballs and broken pretzels for the antlers lol…basically everything is pretzel based haha

  9. “December but strangely like 60 degrees” – just shut up. It’s been almost 90 degrees today and there is a cold front crossing the MS River. I’m sitting outside waiting to welcome it like an old friend. If we have another “mild winter”, I’m relocating dammit!

    1. Hahah! Well! Here from October to December you can get anywhere from 14 to 75Β° at any given time! Yes, you need a “Polar Pig” to sweep in this winter and carry you off!

      1. I woke up this morning to a lovely 55 and the high today is 71. I’ll take that! But I’m still jealous that you actually get 4 distinct seasons. I grew up in western Oklahoma and I miss that.

        1. This may be a very loose usage of ‘distinct’! But yes…I don’t see myself changing climates anytime soon 😊 Oklahoma has four seasons?! Why am I just now finding this out πŸ˜‚

  10. Compared to Mississippi, yes. Yes it does. Here, it’s: “Not quite so humid, today.” “It’s starting to get humid already.” “God, will this heat and humidity ever stop?!” And hurricane season. πŸ˜‚

    1. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ They say the two seasons here are Winter, and Construction.
