Botanically, Yours II

We set out Thursday armed with a picnic and observation art journals to spend a long quiet day at the gardens together. There is still much to bloom but it was perfect weather and we covered so much ground I think we are both still sore. Enjoy!

  1. Oh WOW! Gorgeous! What is that white/yellow surrounded by purple (9th pic)?

      1. I thought it looked like lantana but I’ve never seen that combo of colors…

        1. I was gonna say GURRRL you know I don’t know! I felt bad that most weren’t labeled because she wanted to write them in her journal and if it’s not Phlox, Gardenias or Peonies I can’t help! (I do know a few more, lol!) Anyhow there were three varieties of the one you’re mentioning but that was my favorite of the magical color combos!

  2. Lantana is pretty but poisonous. If you touch it, make sure you wash your hands๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’Œ๐Ÿ’Œ

      1. My ex owned a landscaping business. I learned a lot about plants. Lantana and Oleander are popular landscaping shrubs, both are poisonous.

  5. Oooo what are the flowers in the 2nd and 3rd pictures? They look like a huge daisy but have purple on the inside of the petal? Love all these pictures, Sam! And it is such a great idea! I’m adding it to my list of things to do with the toddler I’m nannying this summer. Hopefully he likes it!

    1. I know there are African daisies in this part of the garden and in looking around I think this must be them. ๐Ÿค” Yes for sure! We have been going here since the baby days to see the fish and hang out in the greenhouse which is so handy in the depths of winter cause its like summer inside!

    1. Haha! That was such a fail but I was determined to mark him as a ‘critter’ spotted! It was a snake who sat there and stared at us forever but when I finally tried to take his picture I botched the buttons enough times he decided to start moving away ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

      1. Hey man – that’s my move! Get your own hosed photo ideas! Lol. Seriously I do that all the damn time with my wildlife pics. Esp on something that shouldn’t be that hard like a butterfly or bird. Not sure if you are a watcher of the show “The Big Bang” but it makes me think of the episode where Sheldon finds the wild bird. He wants to keep it, but of course it flies off later in the episode. When that happens, Sheldon yells out, “Come back you stupid bird so I can love you!!!!” That about sums up wildlife photography for me. ๐Ÿ˜‰ But I adore your pics. They really are lovely. ๐Ÿ˜‰โค๏ธ
