‘This is a Day of Independence, For all the Munchkins and Their Descendants’

Sweet Sassy Molassey!! This is a rehash of one of LAST YEARS Fourth of July posts since I am currently (very) incapacitated with pinched nerves in my neck and shoulder, as in the weight of my huge melon is literally too heavy for my spinal column. So I will be doing absolutely nothing today! πŸŽ†βœ¨πŸŽ‡

Baiting the minnows with tiny fingers

When you start at 6 a.m., you sure can cram a lot into one day. But, when I have the time, I’ve promised to take it. It isn’t possible that this year’s 4th and last could exist on more alternate planes of the universe. And, looking back, I couldn’t be happier about that. I’ve never been more grateful for changes in me and the evolution of our family.

We started the day with hitting up R.E.I. because I’ve been needing a new bike for ages. Although I could appreciate the tactic of sticking the $3000 model right in front, I wasn’t hesitant to jump past that one. Tour de Next!

We spent some time cloud watching from the trampoline before the cover came that allowed us to ride over to the river for a bit. We saw ‘buns less wild than Snowball, and a huge toad who got away from me before we could immortalize him. Though I had no intention of ‘touchy.

I love our bike rides because I love seeing where the conversation will go. Today we discussed all kinds of family structures including her good buddy at school who has two dads. Somehow, this led to talking about how much we love Halloween, how it started and why. Which led to spirits and how “evil spirits come from people who are mean.” Indeed. I was glad to hear she equated my living being with a spirit that would “probably not be haunting to me.”

It almost broke 90Β° here today so after cool baths and showers all around…always art. And I sprung a game on her I ordered at a local independent toy store because it looked a-ma-zing. Taco Takeover. My tacos were consistently contaminated with cockroaches so even though I attempted five recipes to her three, I lost hardcore. Target’s siren song of the day was pretty sexy. Cheesecake something or other…the actual details are a blur after that 😍😍😍

There was also the patriotic devising of bath foams and Icees. Topped off with shushy sparklers that fit our celebration criteria. Go Big, you know?….A great day. And it’s not over yet.
