That. Be that. Being a part of another’s healing often leads us to finding our own. A cycle of wellness and repair we can all give one another. I wouldn’t wish the pain of silence on anyone. Or for anyone. Every individual deserves someone to hear them. As every individual is capable of being a healthy part in the cycle of healing for themselves and others. Give what you’d wish to recieve. Because it will always matter.
Sam
I grew up in a house where silence was used like a weapon to control. Took me years to realize silence is just silence and not everyone has an agenda. I agree with you about the healing, when we are heard it does start a cycle of healing and wholeness. I have a wonderful friend who was willing to be that person to hold and stand with me. Scariest day of my life was when I trusted her and allowed myself to open to love and healing! Love this post! π

Oh no, I’m so sorry to hear this. My dad used this when he was angry at all of us, and I experienced it later in life as well. Once silence has been consciously used in that sort of subtle cruelty it’s so hard to deprogram ourselves from feeling shame or trying to ‘fix’ it. I’ve learned to feel that when someone isn’t speaking to me that I’m not worthy of even a word. It takes so long to relearn otherwise. I’m so glad to hear you had someone to lean on in trust! To be recieved that way is such a blessing. Thank you so much!

You know my mom used to say that if someone doesn’t talk to you then it says something about them not you. I try to always tell myself this when I start that self-talk that I need something to bring on the silence! I’m starting to see how that is very true! Have a super weekend Sam! π

πSuch a simple concept. I’ll never understand why some people can’t grasp itπ

Because it’s easier to not get involved. You know I’m not cynical about much at all in this life but, if I had to pick one concept. That’d be it.

I saw a horrifying video of a lady on a hike/retreat, whatever. And a girl orangutan grabbed her wrist and she couldnt pry herself loose. She was 2 feet from a cliff and all the men around her backed off while she was incapacitated by this thing. They tried to bribe her with food and distract her and nothing was working. She gave up eventually but my heart was racing!
