“Merry Christmas For You”

I’m not sure why the nightly and morning check-ins. Seems like overkill, but, sure, I’ll throw something new up here while I have a minute just so it’s not a fruitless visit.

Anywho, this is something I got into when quarantine *first* started. As soon as we got word the schools were shutting down and we were going on quarantine, it was a mad scramble to stock up on crafts and activities for everyone. I am currently WAY backlogged on puzzles and ‘i wanna try that‘ art supplies because before I got sick this spring I was cranking these “minis” out like crazy. Believe it or not, they are a great anxiety tackler and perfect for people who like process projects. I’d wanted to try them for ages and had a couple kits saved away in my Forbidden Cabinet of Mystery for a while. When the world shuts down…no better time to try hobbies you claimed not to have time for before! (Except paper quilling….I haven’t had the nerve to bust out that stuff yet)

I wanted to do this one while we were on vacation this summer but I got sidetracked with those damn diamond painting things. My daughter made me try them and it became yet another dexterity activity for the Tremor Twins that we have a lot of fun with and is also extremely peaceful. So, now, after we have both worked all day, she does her animation projects and my plan is to start this this evening as my first Christmas project of the season (SHRIEK). The only downside to some of these kits is that they come from China or Japan and the English translations are…challenging at times. My favorite so far has been “use much patience to join both“. When it comes time to cut and glue this jolly but miniscule banner, it’s going to require some minor surgery in order to display the proper greeting.

Although…I don’t know. A Merry Christmas *is* for everyone! So I just may keep it. So excited!

Be well, Friends

This was my first attempt back in spring. So fun. And, yes, there is a LOT of glue working overtime on this one!

  1. I do like these ‘little’ things. Good going .

  2. I’m all about crocheting when I feel anxious. Crafting is such a calming hobby though

    1. Oh! I saw eensy, tiny little crocheted piglets on an Etsy site while we were looking for knitting stuff. I wanted all of them! My youngest has taught herself to knit over the summer but I know she would have so much more fun with crochet! I just can’t convince her.

  3. Happy Crafting- looks like fun!

    1. So far I only made some of the little books. The paper stuff was packaged rolled up really tight so I have to compress it all in heavy books before I can even start 😭 It was all too “curly” to work with!

  4. I love that library room! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

    1. I saw that kit at the bookstore and it was called Sam’s Study, so I had to have it 😂 It was so much fun decorating it once all the pieces were done!

  5. OMG! A house for the Wee ones to visit!🧚‍♂️🧚‍♀️
You are way more patient than I! I have big ol’ “Man Hands” that don’t do delicate work.
    I bow to you, Sensei🙇🏼‍♀️🙇🏼‍♀️

    1. So…the funny thing is that the consensus was that I would get ten steps in and throw the whole thing at the wall 😂 Every time I got more done, they were incredulous, like, “oh…Wow!!” I finally started saying, stop acting so surprised whenever I finish piece! 😂😂😂

      1. 😂😂😂 I pictured myself doing exactly that. Frustration and chucking it at the wall. Mine would’ve included a roar and some choice words.
As I said, you are Sensei🙇🏼‍♀️🙇🏼‍♀️😂😂💖

    1. I’m excited for this one cause I have never seen any other kits that were rooms decorated for Christmas!

    1. I can’t wait to make the mini star shaped wreath. Something tells me I’m going to have to bend it myself from a little twiglet, though 😂

      1. HAHA I’m sure you’ll be able to work it out!

  6. Love the library! These look like so much fun!

    1. After realizing I’d just have to resign to folding like 200 books it was fun 😂 And once all the little pieces are done you can organize it any way you want! I’ll post my other ones, too. I think I have five more finished ones, haha!

  7. Oh. My. Gawdddd at the cuteness and COOLNESS of these things! I didn’t even know they existed! God, I need a hobby. I love to see what you and your crafty kid come up with. Still waiting for y’all to adopt me.

    1. Your hobby has been building a REAL house, a home, and a garden! I will post my others, you will love the little country kitchen one. There’s tiny little lemon slices and lemonade and a cutting board of strawberries! Needed a new X-acto for that one. Adoption papers approved!!

      1. Yayyyy! Oh yes, I need to see the kitchen!!
