“A Winter’s Day”

It’s been a hectic week and I have mixed feelings about the fact that I haven’t had much to post. There have been times in my past where I was hurting so bad that I needed to get a lot out, consistently. And times where I was so full of the joy in my days that I wanted to share that, too. I’m happily somewhere in the middle of a pleasant adjustment period right now and my thoughts are level.

‘The Happy Dreamer’

There’s a little independent bookstore in town that I’ve been going to since I moved here. Think Youve Got Mail. Bigger than The Shop Around the Corner…smaller than Fox Books…

“The More Loving One”

When I was in the 6th grade, I had to start buying books with my own money. Which meant no one had to okay anything anymore. Which also meant I had the freedom to go to any area of the store that I wished. And to get what I wanted. I remember the first day I made my own choices…Because I still have both books. The second one was a book of poetry by W.H. Auden, which is buried deep in the bowels of my office somewhere. Still going strong. Continue reading ““The More Loving One””

#Insecurity

In between guilting the staff to bring me more food, I’ll take a second to mention that this is my favorite tag to read on WordPress. Hands down.

Of all the things I’m most familiar with, that I relate to, that I’ve been through, going through, or am…that’s where I find the most interesting thoughts. Insecurity of subjective looks or about being “loved” isn’t what I mean. Scrap it. I mean insecurity about being different. Doubting ourselves. What we’re embarrassed of. Those less than perfect attributes that make us precisely who we are. The most interesting people and the most interesting thoughts. They’re there. With that tag. And I know exactly why that is.
